Chadwell Heath Dental Sedation Clinic is a day care center specialising in treating referral patients under intravenous sedation. The clinic offers an excellent facility for treating nervous patients under I.V.-conscious sedation and provides an alternative to long NHS waiting lists for minor oral surgery day cases and general dental conservation for both children and adults.
Our strengths lie in our high standard of dentistry and level of service. Chadwell Heath prides itself on providing a quick response to referral needs. For many patients routine dental treatment or extractions can be a frightening experience. We are fully aware of this and our professional team is trained specifically to deal with this – all the team members being experienced in treating nervous patients.
The Chadwell Heath Dental Sedation Clinic is one of the largest sedation clinics in the Essex region and a major clinic in treating referral patients both under the NHS contract, and on an independent / private basis.
The clinic offers general dentistry for children and adults and has an Oral Surgery Department specialising in simple extraction and/or impacted wisdom teeth.
Chadwell Heath Dental Clinic also offers a comprehensive implant program.
What is Fast Track?
Fast Track is Chadwell Heath Anaesthetic Clinic’s way of providing appointments and care for referral patients within 2-3 working days. These patients would otherwise have to wait several weeks, if not months, for dental treatment under IV Sedation.
Why do we need Fast Track for children?
Thousands of NHS child patients will be affected by the introduction of the NHS contract, as the Government-revised contract hours will increase the length of time they will have to wait for dental treatment under sedation. Being forced to wait for treatment can be the cause of pain, sleepless nights and distress, impacting not only on the child and their schooling, but also on the rest of the family. Dental problems can also cause more serious health risks if left untreated.
Background to Fast Track
For the past 12 years we have been involved in treating patients both on the NHS and on an independent basis. While this has given us great satisfaction we have to recognise that, due to the new GDS contract, there are new trends in treating referral patients. We are mindful that we must prepare for change, and adapt to the new, whilst also preserving the best of the old system, whenever possible.
Fast Track Implementation
For the reasons detailed above, we have decided to implement a Fast Track service that includes independent sessions for children. This service will take place with immediate effect.
Provided we have not exceeded our UDA’s and we have sufficient NHS funding, children will be treated on the NHS. However, we anticipate this will create a long waiting list for dental treatment under sedation. With treatment under Fast Track, we can guarantee an appointment within 2-3 working days. Please note Fast Track patients will be treated on an independent basis only.
If patients wish to take advantage of the Fast Track service, the following practice policy applies:
All patients with valid exemption certificates, all children, and all post-school students will be treated on the NHS.
Children will be treated on the NHS, provided we have not exceeded our UDA’s and have sufficient NHS funding. If parents wish their child to be treated on our Fast Track service we can guarantee an appointment within 2-3 working days.
Fast Track Price List – Children
Children’s dental treatment (4-18 years and still in full time education) requiring conscious sedation, extractions and/or dental restorations £250.00
Please note that the above prices are for Fast Track patients only.
Fast Track patients are guaranteed treatment within 3 working days.
